Hi Eric,
When you purchase a version you get 1 year of free upgrades guaranteed. V 3.0 is near its second Beta release. It will be in Beta 2 for a month and then if no major problems are discovered will be released officially. However the Beta versions we release are in close to production quality. We try our best to make sure they work well when they are released. The problems in them usually are in not up to date documentation.
